Arnett W. Mumford, III

Arnett W. Mumford, III earned his J.D. from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 2008. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. He received his primary school education from the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. 

 

Prior to founding The Mumford Law and Mediation Firm, Mr. Mumford served as a senior litigation counsel at an international law firm Cordell & Cordell, where he represented clients on domestic and international civil matters.

 

Attorney Mumford served as a full-time Judge on the Fulton County Magistrate Court Bench in Atlanta Georgia. He served the citizens of Fulton County through the issuance of judicial decisions in Georgia’s busiest court. He served as the presiding Judge for all garnishment and post-judgment matters. He presided over small claims hearings, reviewing service issues, motions, and default judgments. He reviewed and issued criminal search warrants and arrest warrants. He presided over criminal first appearance hearings. He presided over county ordinance violation hearings. He presided over citizen warrant application probable cause hearings. He reviewed and approved mediated agreements and settlement agreements. He presided over abandoned motor vehicle compliance hearings. He also created internal practice guides based on local legal changes.

 

Prior to his appointment to the judiciary, he served as Of Council at Molden & Holley, LLC, and he was an Associate Attorney at Jones and Associates where he specialized in criminal law, Family Law, and civil litigation. During his years of practice, he has represented private individuals, small businesses, corporations, and domestic, and international non-profits. 

 

While in law school, Attorney Mumford served as Law Clerk to the National Football League Management Council in New York City, served as a certified legal intern at the Miami Public Defenders Office, served as a Law Clerk at Greenberg Trauig in Atlanta, and served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Victoria Platzer of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. 

 

Mr. Mumford is also an avid community volunteer currently serving on the Executive Board of the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America and the Executive Board of the Atlanta Area Boy Scouts of America. 

 

Mr. Mumford has also served as the Advisory Board Chairman of the Atlanta chapter of New Leaders Counsel, a national Leadership Organization. Mr. Mumford served on the advisory board of Focal Point Global, an international education nonprofit that served children in four countries on two continents. Mr. Mumford is a former board member of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals where he served as their Parliamentarian.

 

Mr. Mumford is a member of the 2012 New Leaders Atlanta Cohort, the 2014 United Way VIP Cohort, 2015 Leadership Buckhead Cohort, the 2016 Outstanding Atlanta Class, and the 2017 Project Understanding Cohort.  Arnett is a current member of the Gate City Bar Association, The Atlanta Bar Association, The Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association, and a former member of the Wilkie D. Ferguson Bar Association (Miami Florida). 

 

Mr.  Mumford is admitted to practice in the State of Georgia, the State of Maryland, and the State of Florida; he is also admitted to practice before the Northern District of Georgia Federal Court.
